Johnie Wasley

of Birmingham, born May 27, 1924, passed awat on Sunday, June 26, 2005, at the age of 81. He was a veteran of WWII and graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in 1948, with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Wasley retired from U.S Steel, with 43 years of service. He was a long time member of Chace Lake Country Club. Mr. Wasley is survived by his wife, Louise Smith Wasley; three daughters, Suzzane Waid (David), Nancy Owen (Glenn), Deborah Woods (Ronny); a son, Johnie Bob Wasley, Jr; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Duffy Chase officiating.
