Mr. John Mark (Johnny) Waddell, age 60, died on March 4. A life long resident of Anniston, he grew up in the Eulaton community where he attended Walter Wellborn High School and was a member of The Eulaton First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. William X. Waddell, one sister, Sally Waddell and one brother, Billy Waddell. He is survived by one son, Bart Waddell and one grandson, Dylan Waddell; daughter, Ginger Plunkett and five step-grandchildren; four brothers, David, Jack, Danny and Wendell Waddell; five sisters, Myra Rust, Mary Glass, Julie Currie, Karen Smallwood and Janice Pritt and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Eulaton First Baptist Church Cemetery. A special thanks to Helen Smith Jackson for providing the former home of Johnny’s aunt, Mrs. Rose Waddell Smith, as a place for the family to gather following the brief graveside service.
