John Richard Tschudin, Sr., (Dick), of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 14th, 1947, in Douglas, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; Frederick B. Tschudin and Winefred Kirkland.
Dick was a graduate of Auburn University and received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the University of Alabama, where he completed his residency in endodontics. After active duty in the United States Air Force, he began a 25 year endodontic practice in Birmingham.
He was an avid golfer and deep-sea fisherman, a passion that he shared with his wife, Pat, and son, John. When the granddaughters came along, they became the best part of his life. From daily school carpool, to fishing, to attending dance competitions, to playing chutes and ladders and poker.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat Point; Son, John Jr. (Ashley); Granddaughters Sophie and Ella; Sisters Cindy Julian and Melanie Marshall (Ron); and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama on Monday, February 24th, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
