John (Bud) A. Pribula Jr. died peacefully in his home in Pelham, AL on April 1, 2015. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ, he graduated from Perth Amboy High School (Class of ’47) and later, the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in NYC (Class of “59). He was employed for a short time as a funeral director before starting his own sales and services company for the funeral and cemetery industry known as the Edison Supply & Equipment Company. While living in NJ, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus earning the rank of Fourth Degree, the patriotic degree of the Knights. He also enjoyed weekly card games with friends, and later the occasional trip down the Garden State Parkway to Atlantic City for his preferred game of Blackjack. He also was an avid boater and served as Fleet Commander for his yacht club. He spent his childhood in Perth Amboy, NJ, moved to Edison, NJ in 1964 and after 44 years, moved to Pelham, AL in 2009 to retire.
He is preceded in death by his son, John A. Pribula III. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa (Tess) Pribula, his daughter Judy Pribula Gordon and her husband, Jerry Gordon of Hoover, AL and their children Sarah, Jared and Jacob.
