of Hoover, a native of Evergreen, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at the age of 82. He was a dedicated employee for over 60 years at Southern Coach, Truck Parts and Equipment, and City Truck and Trailer. Most recently, John worked at Publix, where he loved working and making many wonderful friends with the employees and customers. He was an example of his faith and lived his life accordingly. In the 60's, John served as a deacon at Berney Points Baptist Church in West End and currently was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter, Carey Helene Morrow. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Martha Pigford Morrow; a son, Randy Morrow (Barbara) of Sparta, GA; two daughters, Doretta Potts (Johnny) of Hoover, and Cindy Smith of Savannah, GA; eight grandchildren, Greg and Jason Morrow, Michael Banks, Matthew and Katie Berry, Ryan (Melissa), Sarah and Paige Morrow; seven step-grandchildren, Kennie Dennis, Brian and Gregg Potts, and Kelly Norman; David Morton (Francine), Patrick Morton (Becki), Beth Morton; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Willie Morrow (Betty) of Ozark. He had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 1:00 PM at Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Interment will be at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cullman, Rev. Patrick Morton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
