John Moore

Mr. John S. Moore, of Hoover, AL, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the age of 91. He attended Woodlawn High School . He was a graduate of Howard College. He served in the US Army in Europe during WWII. He worked for Continental and St. Paul Insurance Company and retired in 1989. He was a long time member of the YMCA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine S. Moore, parents, George and Rose Moore, sisters, Betty Rose Dailey and Robinette Atkinson.
He is survived by his son, John R. Moore (Melissa), two grandchildren, Scott R. Moore (Katie) and Scott Benson and brother, David S. Moore.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 14, 2015, from 12-1 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
