John Duke Johnson, loving husband, father, son, and brother passed away on May 7th, 2021 at age 56. John was born in El Paso, Texas on November 19, 1964. He was raised in Huntsville, Alabama but has been a resident of Hoover for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an intelligence officer, doing a full tour in US Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon completing his military career, he returned to Huntsville and obtained his B.S. degree in Corporate Finance from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. He then pursued a career in cybersecurity and network operations. John was employed by Teksouth Corp. in Gardendale, Alabama where he served as the Manager of IT and network security for 16 years. In his off time, John was an avid movie watcher as well as enjoyed playing guitar and wood working. Above all, his favorite place to be was with his family and kids. John is preceded in death by his father, James Harden Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patricia Lynn Lowery Johnson, his two sons, Harrison Riley Johnson and Jefferson Walker Johnson, his Mother, Jessie Reba Poitevient Johnson and two brothers, James Ernest Johnson of Houston, TX and Samuel Ashley Johnson of Leesburg, FL The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 12th at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am with burial following in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
