John Hodge

John W. Hodge, 70, of Calera, AL passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Hoover and was always serving at the church. He loved golf and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving proudly on the USS Valley Forge. He served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Happy Valley Reunion Club, the social organization for former shipmates. He was District Maintenance Supervisor for Otis Elevator for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Hodge, son, Jody Hodge, brother-in-law, Ruie Brooks (Marissa) and mother-in-law, Neita Brooks.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10-11 AM at First Baptist Church of Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the church with Dr. Randy Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
