Mr. John Q. Adams, 78, of Hoover, AL passed away on May 28, 2020. John was born in Gilmer, TX on November 14, 1941. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for three years as a Russian Linguist and was based at the Berlin Wall. He worked as a Computer Programmer for many years and was honored for his volunteer work teaching English as a second language. His hobbies included ballroom dancing during his 50's, reading, coaching little league baseball, and loved everything Texas. At the age of 61, John attended the Birmingham School of Law, graduated in May of 2008, and practiced in Bessemer until he was 77 years old.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Huckabee, Kay Shaw and Mary Thomas; brother, Gerald Adams; and parents, Hobson Dewey Adams and Mattie Isola Howard Adams.
He is survived by his son, John Andrew Adams (Andra); daughter, Susan Little Buice (Ron); grandchildren, Kelsee Haight (Christian), Trenton Little, Luke Adams, and Alice Adams; and sister, Betty Smith.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will follow in the chapel. Burial will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 9:30am at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no services associated with the burial.
