Jack Oliver passed away on January 3, 2019 at the age of 85 years. A native of Alabama, Jack grew up in Carbon Hill with his maternal grandmother, uncles Walter and Cartis and aunt Clara. Jack joined the army and served in the Korean war. After returning from the service, he had a lifetime career in sales working for Pillsbury and Shamrock Foods. Jack enjoyed life in Arizona for more than thirty years. His interests were photography and hiking, as well as a great care and concern of animals which included his pet dogs and cats. Jack returned to Alabama in 2009 and has spent the last seven years of his life at Bill Nichols VA Home in Alexander City. He was preceded in death by his father David, mother Anna Mae and brother Dan. He is survived by his siblings, Ruth, Deanna and John, his children, Eric, Greg, Lori and Lance, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for Jack can be made to your local animal shelter.
