Joe Harrison Wallace was born on October 27, 1941 in Vernon, Alabama and passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 16, 2024. He was the second oldest and last surviving of four brothers. Though he called many places home at some point in his life, Birmingham, Alabama was where he settled down to raise his family.
Joe spent his life in the heavy equipment industry, accumulating many friends and stories along the way. He met the love of his life, Jennifer, at Harbert Construction Company and they were married for over 35 years. Most importantly, Joe’s proudest achievement in his life was his family. He never missed a family reunion and made a point to always reach out to family members to check in. If anyone was ever in need, Joe was there to care for them. Joe was a beloved friend, brother, husband, father, but his favorite title was Papa.
Joe will be forever remembered for his quiet nature and fierce love. He loved gardening, golfing, and Alabama basketball. His dedication to his family shone through his pride in the accomplishments of his children.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, father, and three brothers- Aleane Wallace, Hobson Wallace, Jack Wallace, Tommy Wallace, and Stanley Wallace. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Wallace, children Preston Wallace (Jodi) and Aubrey Wallace (Dylan), and grandchildren Abigail, Lauren, and Brody. He also leaves behind a legacy of lifelong friendships.
