Joe Laird

Mr. Joe S. Laird, of Montevallo, AL, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at the age of 90. He was retired from US Steel after 34 years of service and a Marine veteran of WWII. He was a former member of Green Acres Baptist Church and a current member of Enon Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Laird, sons, Ronnie Laird (Lawanna) and Tim Laird (Jennifer), daughter, LuAnn Laird Hensley (Michael), brother, Don Laird (Linda), sister, Edith Ann Crump, three grandsons, Jason, Joseph and Adam Laird and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Service will follow in the chapel with Bro. Bill Trawick officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
