MORGAN, JOE W., III, of Vestavia, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the age of 46. He was born in Mobile, AL and spent his young years in an Army family, with frequent moves. He attended schools in NC, GA, AL, and NJ, and was graduated from Monmouth Regional High School in Monmouth County, NJ. He returned to AL to attend the University of Alabama and won the Outstanding Health Care Management Student Award and was graduated with a degree in Health Care Management in 1986. He enrolled in the Masters of Health Care Management Program at University of Alabama at Birmingham, then enrolled in the Birmingham School of Law, where he was graduated with the Juris Doctor degree in 1993. He was particularly interested in family law, criminal defense, and appellate practice. He loved the music of "the Boss," foreign travel, Crimson Tide football, and travels with Joanne, his daughter. He was introduced to the music of Bruce Springsteen while his family was stationed in NJ. He heard "the Boss" play at a teenage concert when Joey was 13, and he became a devoted life-long fan. Joey enjoyed touring and especially a recent tour of Vietnam with a group of graduate students from the University of Southern Mississippi. His trip to California for the Crimson Tide victory, he reported as "second only to showing Joanne Manhattan and the Jersey Shore," where he spent his teenage years. He is survived by his parents, Mildred "Pete" and Joe W. Morgan, Jr.; brother, Martin Kenneth Adrian Morgan; his daughter, Cynthia Joanne Morgan; and Cynthianne Morgan, to whom he was married for eighteen years.
