Jo Ann Como

Jo Ann Como, of Vestavia, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the age of 87.  She was born in Fairfield and graduated as valedictorian of McAdory High School in 1950.  After serving as office manager for a number of area physicians, she retired from EBSCO after serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President.  Jo Ann was an active member of Executive Women International.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Como; her daughter Debra Jean Como; and her brothers, Selby "Bud" Rushing, James Rushing, and Richard Rushing.  She is survived by her sons Jackson Como (Deborah) and Jerry Como (Keri); a grandson, Chance Como; and her brother, Robert Rushing (Carolyn).
The family will receive friends 4-6, Monday, July 29, 2019, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover.  Funeral will be 2:00, Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Harold McClendon officiating.  Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
