Joan Brown

Joan Hairston Brown, 67, of Birmingham, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2015, after a long illness. Joan is a graduate of Shades Valley High School, Auburn University, and Valdosta State University. She always demonstrated her love for Jesus Christ in all areas of her life.

She is preceded in death by her father, William George Hairston, Jr. She is survived by the love of her life, Henry Donahue Brown III; her two sons, William Donahue Brown and Christopher Cannady Brown (Molly); her mother, Jean Bailey Hairston; two sisters, Kay Hairston Harless (Jim) and Ann Huntington Sparks; her brother, William George Hairston III (Paula); and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at Green Valley Baptist Church, Hoover, AL. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Plantation Manor and the hospice workers who provided excellent, compassionate and loving care.
