Jo Johns

Jo Ann Middlebrooks Johns, of Bessemer, went to her Heavenly home on July 19, 2016, at the age of 79. For anyone that knew her, they knew she was full of sparkle and sass, she made every minute count, she made great memories for the family and will continue to do so as her stories are told. She was known to speak her mind and always wanted things done yesterday. She will be sorely missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Denise Johns Pearson; her parents, James E. Middlebrooks and Lola B. Middlebrooks; and her brother, James D. Middlebrooks.

She is survived by her husband, of over 60 years who was her handpicked soul mate, having met in September 1955, George E Johns; her daughters, Carol Isbell (Dale), Nancy Johns (CC Patton) and Susan Belcher (Joe); her brother, George Middlebrooks (Lou); grandchildren, Brandy Parsons (Eddy), Amanda Weinberg (Lindsay), Jason Isbell, Jessica Belcher, Jonathan Pearson (Jenna), Mark Belcher, and Lola Farley (Lucus); great grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Olivia, Jackson, Jameson, Haley and one on the way, along with a host of family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 6-8PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with the service to be held on Friday, July 22, 2016, at 11AM in the Chapel.
