69, of Alabaster, passed away on January 28, 2012. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Berlin Conflict. He is retired from US Steel after 35 years of service. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he will be missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Jo Williams Gothard. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Nona Williams, son, Joseph Eugene Williams (Amy), daughter, Rebecca Falkner, six grandchildren, Cody Alexander Williams, Maria Danielle Falkner, Madysen McKinley Williams, John Curtis Williams, Kayla and Meagan Jones, three great grandchildren, Tristan, Alaina and Addison, brother, Calvin Odell Williams (Mary Carolyn), two sisters, Betty Sue Minton and Mary Lou Wright (Dan) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 1 until 2 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wade Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
