Jimmy Ray Rose of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away on October 13, 2023. He was born October 23, 1938, in Grenada County, Mississippi. He grew up in Duck Hill, Mississippi where he graduated from Binford Hill High School. He is a graduate of Delta State University where he was a member of the college’s basketball team, and the University of Mississippi. Upon completion of his college education, he accepted employment with the U.S. General Accounting Office. His work with GAO moved him to Huntsville, Alabama and later to Atlanta, Georgia. He remained employed with GAO until his retirement in 1995.

While working in Huntsville, Alabama, Jimmy met Beulah Rose Thompson. Jimmy and Beulah were married on February 4, 1973, in Rainsville, Alabama, and they resided in Huntsville. While in Huntsville, Jimmy was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Upon relocating to the Atlanta area with his GAO employment, Jimmy and his family began residing in Lithia Springs, Georgia. He was devoted to his religion and took an active role as a member of First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs serving as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was also active in serving others in need working with The Giddeons International and the Ruritan Club of Lithia Springs, Georgia. Jimmy proved himself to be a wonderful, loving, and dedicated husband and father. He enjoyed golf and the opportunity for he and Beulah to travel with friends and family during their retirement. Desiring to be near their children, Jimmy and Beulah moved to Birmingham in 2018 where they began attending Lakeside Baptist Church until his health made doing so impossible.
