Jimmy Phillips

Mr. Jimmy Phillips, of Pelham, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the age of 76. He retired from Southern Life and Health Insurance Company as CEO after 20 plus years. He served his country proudly as a U.S. Army veteran. He received his Master's Degree from Auburn University. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by a son, Chris Phillips and a brother, Joe Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Lilly Phillips, sons; Doug Phillips (Carla) and Joseph Epperson, daughters; Leigh Anne McManus (Tom) and Tammy Reynolds, six grandchildren; Brooks and Tyler Phillips, Jesse Johnson (Roy), Brent Bolden (Jesse), Joseph Epperson, Jr. and Andrea Wakefield, four great grandchildren; Christian Johnson, Bailey, Brayson and Breelyn Bolden and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2015, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the chapel with Rev. Tommy Sanders officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
