of Birmingham, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010, at the age of 77. After growing up in Parrish, AL, he served four years in the U.S. Navy, remaining on the West Coast 11 years before returning to Alabama. A fun-loving man with a dry sense of humor and a mischievous grin, he enjoyed ballroom dancing with the Montmartre Chapter of the Birmingham Fraternal Council and at Dr. Dance. Mr. Jackson retired from Rust International after 26 years of service and from BE&K after 5 years. He is preceded in death by parents, Roscoe and Claudia Jackson; brothers, Robert, Leon (Mildred), and Herbert Jackson; and a sister, Stellene (Charles) Lineberry. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Harriet Jackson; four sons, Steve, Gary, David (Laurie), and Daryl (Nancy) Jackson; and brother, Clayton Jackson (Donna). The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
