Jimmie Matson

Jimmie Sue "Nannie" Matson broke free of her earthly chains and met her Lord and Savior singing His praises joyfully. Impatiently awaiting her arrival (in their newly built one story mansion) was her husband of 68 years Paul (Mr. Kool) Matson, along with her parents, siblings, granddaughter, great grandson, and a host of others. A native of Talladega, she spent the majority of her life blessing others in Hueytown. Whether you called her Sue, Mom, or Nannie everyone whose life she touched was forever changed. Her legacy of love is undeniable.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Rusty Matson (Virginia), daughter Connie Wallace (Gene); 6 grandchildren:, Dr. Kristie Rankin (Shawn), Ronnie Matson (Dawn), Wendy Dew (David), Jessica Greene (Jason), Brad Wallace (Monica), and Kenneth Speer; 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; her beloved fur babies Gigi and Chief; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow in the chapel at 11 AM. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
