Jim Gibson of Hoover, beloved husband and dad, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3rd. Gifted with a servant heart, Jim served as a deacon and with the shuttle ministry at Hunter Street Baptist Church. His helping hands stretched all over the area though as he sought to be the hands and feet of Christ to all he encountered. Known for his tireless work ethic, Jim served as equipment manager for Dunn Construction for 15 years. But above all his roles, Jim loved being dad most. He leaves a wonderful legacy to his 3 sons: Austin-22, Caleb-20, and Hunter-16. He also leaves a model for cherishing his wife Lesa for almost 25 years. Jim is also survived by his loving parents, James and Bettye Gibson of Meridian, MS; a sister, Debbie Newton of DeRitter, LA; and a brother, Mark Gibson of Hot Springs, AR. A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Hunter Street Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6 with visitation before from 11-1. Honorary pall bearers will be the Sunday night garage Bible study gang. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
