Jessie Spain

Jessie G. Spain, of Vestavia, AL left this world peacefully on June 18, 2021 the age of 97. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Jessie loved spending time with her family, cooking meals and deserts for family and friends, and listening to the Gaithers.

She is preceded in death by her husband, A.P. Spain; parents, Joseph and Marvie Goodwin; and siblings, Betty Lovelace, Sybil Goodwin, Vernon Goodwin, and Thurman Goodwin.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Spain; daughters, Sue Colley (Dan Colley) and Cheryl Arledge; grandchildren, Christopher Spain, Melissa Thompson (Alfred Thompson), Clay Colley (Tracy Colley), Ronald Arledge, Wendi Thomas (Troy Thomas), and Brian Arledge; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
