Jessie Guy

of Shelby, formerly of Homewood, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at the age of 88. She was known as “Mamaw” to family and friends; and her life was centered around her family. She is a charter member of Oakmont United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Morgan Guy; daughters, Linda Hall Moore and Jeanette Hall Crider; grandson, Steve Crider; parents, William A. and Carrie Pitts Keith; sisters, Hettie Ruth Archer (Harold) and Buna Laura Jennings (Cage); and brothers, Brett and Hoyt Keith. She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Hall Ensey, Mary Hall Earley (Tommy), Ginger Guy Johnston, and Jennifer Guy Ammon (Walter); stepson, William L. Guy; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; brother, Bill Keith; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2009, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Max Blalock officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Serving as pall bearers are Jeremy and Jason Johnston, Keith Ensey, Jeff Earley, Brian Austin, and Barry Freeman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oakmont United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
