Jeanne Richeson

Jeanne M. Richeson (Hazel Jeanne McCutchen Richeson), age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016 surrounded by family at St. Martin's in the Pines in Irondale, AL. She was born on November 1, 1925.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, T. Ray Richeson. She is survived by her son, Tom Richeson, her daughter, Paula R. Davies (Jimmie), her grandchildren, Stacie D. Templin (Chris), Jamie D. Cox (Nick), and Sara Jeanne Davies, and her great-grandchild, Mason R. Templin. Jeanne was born and raised in Steele, MO, to Mayme and Paul Franklin (P.F.) McCutchen. She attended the University of Alabama where she earned an undergraduate and a master's degree in Home Economics. She has been a resident of Birmingham for the last 54 years. Prior to the birth of her children, Jeanne was a caring school teacher in various grades. Jeanne spent the great majority of her life working as a dedicated, loving stay-at-home mother and wife to Tom, Paula and Ray. Jeanne was a long-time, active member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church. Among her involvement, she was known for her stunning flower arrangements. Jeanne spent many of her years as an avid tennis player, outstanding gardener, and devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Jeanne Richeson’s memory will forever be a blessing.

A memorial Service will be held at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, located at 2901 Columbiana Road, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216 on Thursday, November 10, 2016. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with the memorial service following at 11 a.m. A family graveside service will take place at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville, AL at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center or Saint Mark United Methodist Church in her name.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers at St. Martin’s in the Pines for their loving and devoted care of Jeanne.
