Jeanene Lowrey

Lowrey, Jeanene Glasgow, 86, passed away 1 April 2017. Born 8 Dec, 1930, she graduated Jones Valley HS. A lovely and talented dancer, Jeanene was a finalist in the 1948 and 1949 Miss Alabama Contests. She married James Lamar Lowrey (her husband of 62 years) in 1950 and had four children; Mike (Glory), Mitch, Jan (Javier) and Jon (Lynn). She is survived by her brother Harold Glasgow (Carol) and her sister in law, Irona Glasgow (Jimmy). After raising 4 children, Jeanene became a realtor in the 70s and she and her partner (Martha Rockwell) were consistently top producers in the Birmingham area for over 20 years; their final development was Greystone.

Jeanene’s funeral service took place Tuesday, 4 April, 17 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jeanene’s name be made to Cahaba Heights UMC, 3139 Cahaba Heights Rd, Vestavia, AL 35243.

The family would like to recognize Linda, Brenda, and Emma for their loving care and devotion.
