Jean Christie

Jean W. Christie, 84, of Vestavia Hills was called by the Lord and was reunited with her beloved husband Jim and other members of her family Friday. She was born to the late Frank and Grace Weber on February 2, 1930 in Indiana. Jean received a degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She married the late James Christie in 1953. Jean was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ruth Circle and Women’s Hearth Group. An extraordinary cook, Jean prepared meals for Lenten services and Meals on Wheels. She loved to travel to the Gulf Coast and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jean is survived by two children: Lora Moorehouse of Birmingham and Martin Christie of Montgomery. She also is survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Birmingham on Saturday, November 22nd at 10 am.
