of Cahaba Heights, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at the age of 73. He was a WWII and Korean veteran. Mr. Carbonie established Cahaba Heights Shoe Repair in 1960, and was in the shoe repair business for 60 years. He was a member, deacon and ushers chairman at North Shelby Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Carbonie; two sons, Ken Carbonie (Marilyn) and Mitch Carbonie (Brandi); five grandchildren, Meagan, Kendall, Mary Klaire, Chase and Chad Carbonie; a brother Frank Carbonie; and several other loving family members. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 3, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at North Shelby Baptist Church, with Rev. Allan Murphy officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
