Janet Grill

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jan Grill of Pelham, Alabama who died on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2022.

Born in 1951 in Peoria, Illinois to Betty Jean (Waddle) and Jerome Lee Hoffman, Jan moved to the Birmingham area in 1953 with her parents and graduated from W. A. Berry High School in Hoover, Alabama.  The last 16 years of her life-long career in the mortgage banking industry was with Region’s Bank in the Mortgage Technology Group.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

Jan is survived by her husband and best friend, Rodney Terrill Grill of Pelham, Alabama; her daughter Lisa Canfield Donalson (K.D.) of Prattville, Alabama; granddaughter Katherine Janet Skinner of Pelham, Alabama; sister Susan Hoffman Klyce (Peter) of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; Jerome Lee Hoffman, Jr. (Dawn) of Hoover, Alabama; and Judith Hoffman Simpson (Ford) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7th, 2022, from 10:00am – 11:00 am followed by a Remembrance Service at 11:00am – Noon.  Both will be held in the chapel at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244.  A private interment service will follow for the family in the mausoleum chapel.
