Jane Edwards

In loving memory of Jane Edwards, 74, who unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. She was born on August 15, 1948, in Sheffield, Alabama.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Billy Edwards, son Jonathan Edwards and sister Susan Payne. She was preceded by her parents, Lyndon and Virginia Moore.

Jane enjoyed teaching and helping others and always put other people’s needs and wants before hers. She graduated college with a bachelor’s degree and became an elementary school teacher early in life until she had a son of her own after which she devoted her entire life to taking care of her family and others. Her true passion in life, besides taking care of her friends and family, was studying God’s word. She dedicated almost 30 years to attending her bible study class along with her Sunday school. She was passionate about her faith and would always share the gospel with anyone who would listen.

Currie- Jefferson Funeral Home will except friends for visitation on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM and Funeral Services will begin at 12:00PM. Jane’s final resting place will be at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. Burial will be for immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly request that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
