Jamie Cagle

After a long and courageous struggle with her illness, Jamie, age 35, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. Her testimony touched the lives of thousands, many of whom didn't know her personally, but prayed for her daily. She graduated from Hueytown High School in 1995 where she was a cheerleader and member of the Honor Society and Sports Club. In 2000, she received her B.S. from UAB. She was preceded in death by her sister, Traci Ann Layton, and her grandparents, Charlie Bell and Carl and Mildred Layton. She is survived by her husband of 11 years, Brandon Cagle; her daughters, Erin, age 9 and Emily, age 5; her parents, Steve and Janice Layton; her grandmother, Maudie Bell; and countless other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 9, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with Brother Grady Covin officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountainview Baptist Church, 2321 Highway 39, Chelsea, Alabama 35043, in Jamie's memory.
