James Spain

81, of Bessemer, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Spain was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 91. He was preceeded in death by his granddaughter, Kristie Lynn Spain. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence Spain; 2 sons, Doug Spain (Debbie) and Joe Spain; 3 daughters, Sandra Spain Miller (Vince), Debra Hammond (Scott), and Becky Knox (Jody); 5 grandchildren, Jason Spain (Carol), Jimmy Hammond (Erin), Jonathan Hammond, Justin Williford, and Jessie Knox; a brother, Joe Judson Spain (Sally); and a sister, Danna Splawn (Dale). The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00, Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00, Sunday, March 25, 2007, Bro. Tommy Hannah officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
