Mr. James C. "Jim" Richardson, of Hoover, AL, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2011. He was the son of the late Clifford and Velma Richardson of Jackson, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and attended Union University. Jim was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Bell South Services. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the Cross Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Frances Anderson, of Jackson, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Janie, of Hoover, AL, and two sons, Tim (Kerry) and Russ (LaDeana) of Alabaster, AL. Nine grandchildren, Jim, Gene, Whitney, Taylor, Dalton, and Davis Richardson, Brandon and Aaron Barranco, Daniel Phillips all of Alabaster. Special adopted daughter, Beverly Thompson, of Jackson, TN, and special friends, Opal Boyd, and Karolyn Lewis. Visitation will be Sunday, December 4, 2011, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Highway 150. Services will be Monday, December 5, 2011, at 10 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with Dr. Breck Ladd, Dr. Mike McLemore, and Dr. Richard Trader officiating. Burial will be in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 1:15PM. The family request in lieu of flowers all memorials to go to Lakeside Baptist Church, 2865 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243, or to Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church, 309 Raleigh Avenue, Homewood, AL. The family expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Todd Brown and Dr. Laura Buell and the doctors and nurses at UAB Hospital for the wonderful loving care Jim received.
