James Rhoden

April 27, 1926 — February 19, 2018


James Charles "J.C." Rhoden, of Pelham, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at the age of 91. He was the very last of the railroad telegraph operators. He served our country in WWII in the 75the Infantry. He also served as a deacon in Oak Mountain Baptist Church.

J.C. is survived by his 3 daughters, Sandra Oldham (Gerald), Sheron Ann Davis (Jim), and Tammie Rhoden; his son, Daniel Charles Rhoden (Jamie); 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Troy Rhoden (Loretha).

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Friday, February 23, 2018, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow at 11 AM in the chapel, Bro. James Blair and Bro. George Golden officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
