James Oakley

Mr. James Rush Oakley, age 82, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010. He was born in Lexington, TN and has been a resident of Hoover for the past 44 years. Rush retired from U.S. Tobacco Company in 1989. He was a retired captain of the U.S. Army National Guard. Rush was also a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Oakley. He is survived by his daughters, Carla Milstead (Bobby) and Linda Bryant (Geoff); and 3 grandchildren, Allison Milstead, Matthew and Melissa Bryant. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family welcomes flowers or donations to Green Valley Baptist Church.
