James Nolen

Mr. James Nolen, of Shelby County, AL, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the age of 88. He was a member of Siluria Baptist Church for over fifty years. He served in the US Army during the WWII in the Philippines. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and retired from Connors Steel after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mae Guy Nolen, parents, James and Maggie Nolen, brothers, Arthur, Felton, Hardy, and Dr. Percy Nolen and sister, Leola Nolen Frye.
He is survived by his son, James "Jimmy" A. Nolen, daughter, Sheila Nolen Wallace (Brent), three granddaughters, Leslie Viles (Brian), Tabitha Woodley (Dustin) and Amanda Wallace and eleven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 24, 2014, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Siluria Baptist Church.
