James Nelson

of Forestdale, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2006, at the age of 88. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and was retired from U.S. Steel. Mr. Nelson was a member of Forestdale Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd E. Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Nelson; a son, Floyd Nelson (Kathy), of Hueytown; two daughters, Shirley N. Jacks (Richard), of Panama City, FL and JoAnn N. Terry (J. D.) of McCalla; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Faye Bonds, of St. Petersburg, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 19, 2006, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 20, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
