of Bessemer, passed away on Wednesday, October, 5, 2005, at the age of 85. He was a veteran of WWII and was retired from Nickel Plate Mining Co. Mr. Mahan was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Cook. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ruth Mahan; a daughter, Denise Knight of Moody; a stepson, Tommy Morris (Vickey) of Bessemer; two stepdaughters, Nann Ray (Wayne) of Bessemer and Ann Mariea Leaf (Chris) of Albertville; a great grandson, Casey Cook of Leeds; seven step-grandchildren; twelve step-great grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Mahan (Betty) of Bessemer; two sisters, Doll E. Champion (Malcolm) of Hueytown and Audra Krozer of Pell City. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 6, 2005, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover.
