Our sweet boy, James, left us on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was the beloved son of Russell Lopez and Shari Rueles. James was born at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, on February 12, 1985. He is survived by his dad, Russell, his momma, Shari, and his stepmom, Billie Lopez. His brothers, Russell Jr. and Michael, and sisters, Julianna, Misty, and Marissa. Nieces Victoria, Lexi, and Emma, nephews Russell III and Atlas.
James was born into a military family and traveled to Belgium and London and continued to travel to other states to visit family and friends often. As a child, James enjoyed karate, baseball, and basketball. He attended Odessa Permian High School. He loved playing and teaching tennis, darts, and pool as an adult. James started his business as a general contractor learning his skills from his dad. Many people who knew him have had a bathroom redone, floor replaced, new windows, new fixtures, and he even turned a trailer into a palace. His creative mind and willingness to try new things made his renovations striking. He also adored playing card and board games with his family, which ended up being loud, funny times that we will all miss. James had the biggest heart-loving spirit and enjoyed the simple things in life. He never wanted to be an imposition and have you do anything extra for him. He was always ready to help people do whatever was needed.
We are all heartbroken and in disbelief that James will not physically be in our lives, but he will forever live in our hearts and minds.
