James "Keith" Bennett of Hoover, Alabama went to join the Lord-at the age of 73, on Christmas Day, 2024. Born in Athens, Tennessee and raised in Alcoa, Tennessee Keith was a member of First Baptist Church Alcoa for many years. He graduated from Alcoa High School and the University of Tennessee with honors.
Keith worked for Mayer Electric Supply Company for nearly 40 years, rising to become operations manager. He was an ardent fan and supporter of the University of Tennessee and former president of the Big Orange Club of Birmingham. He attended many Tennessee football games with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Keith was an avid collector of antique soda bottles and could regale visitors with the histories of many of the thousand or so bottles in his collection.
Keith, or Bossman, as he was known in living room wrestling rings and to his grandchildren, was a devoted father, grandfather, and uncle. His family will always treasure memories made with Keith on trips and vacations to the beach and The Great Smoky Mountains.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sue Bennett, Grandparents Hubert and Lorena Bennett, and Oscar and Molly Swafford. In-laws: Kenneth and Imogene Johnston; brothers-in-law Steve Johnston, Ken (Windy) Johnston, niece Adrienne Johnston, and sister-in-law Debbie Bunch.
Keith is survived by his wife, Patricia Johnston Bennett; children Blair Bennett, James and Whitney Bennett, Laura and Skyler Braddock. Grandchildren Jackson Bennett, Noah Bennett, Graham Braddock, Collins Bennett, and Caden Braddock. Sisters/Brother-in-laws Sharon and Mike Moore, Freda and Jack Van Tassell, Teresa and Willard Moses. Nieces/Nephews - Eric and Kate Moore, Kara Moore, Josh and Mary Moore, Ashton and Robert Martin, Allison and Zach Turner, Mandy and Brandon Leslie, Matthew and Jessie Johnston, and a loving host of great nieces and nephews.
