Specialist James W. Dunn, of Nauvoo, AL, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at the age of 33. He proudly served as a U.S. Army Ranger in Operation "Enduring Freedom." He was a member of the Walker County Honor Guard, and volunteered for the disaster relief for the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Pitts Ritter Dunn, two sons; Jacob Dunn and Drayke Dunn, two daughters; Kali Dunn and Krissy Wainman, one step-daughter; Dacie Ritter, his father, Phillip Jowers (Amy), his mother, Crystal Saffell, three brothers; Jerremy Blaydoe, Matthew Jones, and Ricky Lewis, and five sisters; Rebekha Bush, Melony Kimbrell, Addie Guy, Christine Jones, and Becky Lewis.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. A committal service will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at 2:45 PM at Alabama National Cemetery.
