Bob Derieux, June 20, 1936 - March 30, 2011, of Inverness, Alabama. After a courageous 7 year battle, with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Bob passed away peacefully at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham Wednesday afternoon. Bob was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and raised in Erlanger, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati. He received his degree in Civil Engineering and had a long career with Rust Engineering, Hoff and Associates, and BE&K, from which he retired in 2007 due to health reasons. Bob touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and he maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Bob was an only child born to the late Sara Wood and James Robert Derieux, Jr. He is predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert Harrison, and mother-in-law, Sarah Moses Killian. Bob was the beloved husband of Judy Killian Derieux for over 39 years. He is survived by son, James R. Derieux IV; grandson, James R. Derieux, V; and many nieces, nephews, and countless other friends and family who were blessed to have known him. Bob was a long-standing member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 12:00 - 2:00, Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood. A funeral service will follow in the church at 2:00, Dr. Gary Fenton officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
