of Hoover, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the age of 60. He had been a psychology professor at Birmingham-Southern College since 1982. Dr. McCallum was born in Laurinburg, NC, and graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe, NC. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Masters degree from Old Dominion University, and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is preceded in death by his mother, Julia McCallum and his brother, Frederick McCallum, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debra McCallum; son, Will; daughter, Beth; father, Frederick McCallum; brother, Stephen McCallum; and nephew, Matthew Moehle. The memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 5, 2010, at Bluff Park United Methodist Church, Rev. Reid Crotty officiating. The family will recieve friends following the service.
