Inez Pitts Saia, 87, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Hoover, Alabama.
She was born on April 17, 1937, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude Saia, her father, Jake Pitts, her mother, Josephine Pitts, her son, Paul A. Saia, her brother, Anthony Pitts, and her sister, Angela Campisi.
She graduated from Ensley High School in 1953. She lived in Auburn, Alabama from 1963 to 1996 and was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish and enjoyed numerous social activities and in particular playing tennis. When they moved from Auburn to Hoover in 1996 she became an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic church and singing in the church choir and with the Hoover Songbirds. Her happiness came from being involved with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; seeing them grow into extraordinary adults; she loved them dearly.
The family would like to thank Chan Cook for her care and compassion to their Mother over the past year.
She is survived by son, Joey (Lisa) Saia, Hoover AL, two daughters, Claudette Saia (Mike Waltz) of Charlotte NC, Juliette (Krishna) Krovi of Boston MA and daughter-in-law, Gail Saia of Auburn, AL; seven grandchildren: Justin Saia (Whitney), Brandy Horne, Jaclyn Dobbins (Chris), Samuel Saia, Nirvan Krovi, Gabrielle Saia and Arya Krovi and four great grandchildren: Braxton Saia, Rhoen Saia, Matthew Dobbins and Hope Inez Dobbins, and several nieces, nephews along with a host of friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
