Idella Franklin

of Hoover, passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday, February 7, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Idella was born July 24, 1915, in Morgan County, AL, to Joe and Lula Beard. She lived on the family farm until her marriage in 1939 to the late George Franklin. Idella later moved to Cullman where she lived most of her adult life. She moved to Dothan in 1986 and then to Birmingham in 2000 and was residing at Golden Living Health and Rehabilitation Center at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her sons, Billy Franklin and Morgan Beard, and her daughter, Frances Franklin. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Geneva Hall of Hoover; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Beard of Enterprise; and 2 sisters-in-law, Esther Mae Beard of Hartselle and Jessie Beard of Houston, TX. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 9, 2008, from 11:00-12:00 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
