of Alabaster, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the age of 74. Born on November 4, 1935, he is preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Sharp of Alexandria, AL. Bud graduated from Alexandria High School and went on to graduate from Auburn University in 1961 where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne, then spent many years working in the textile and foundry business. Bud was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alabaster. He leaves his wife, Shelby Hollis Sharp; a son, Victor Clayton Sharp (Amanda) of Birmingham; 3 grandchildren, Clayton, Wells and Abigail Sharp; 2 brothers, Tommy Sharp (Paula) and Michael Sharp; 2 sisters, Mary S. Propes and Sarah S. Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, from 12 to 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Alabaster. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. Brian Erickson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South in Hoover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Alabaster Building Fund.
