of Hoover, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the age of 74. He was an Alabama native who served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1958. Mr. Lyon was retired from Conners Steel and Birmingham Steel after 40 years of service. He most recently retired from Green Valley Drug Store, where he delivered prescription drugs to their customers. Mr. Lyon was a life-time member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church and was an avid Auburn fan. He was loved and admired by a host of family and friends and all who were associated with him remained impressed by his kindness, humor and personal character. He was a devoted husband and an exceptional daddy. There are no words to express how much he will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly Taff Lyon; and a daughter, Leisa Marie Lyon. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 28, 2008, from 12-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the CCU at Brookwood Hospital for all their care given to Mr. Lyon during his difficult time. Additionally, the compassion and care shown by Dr. Brian Adler was truly exceptional and will never be forgotten.
