Homer Cook, Sr

of Calera, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. He enjoyed an illustrious career as a Sergeant Major in the Marine Corps, serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Grady Cook, Sr. and Lois Timms Wall. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Floria Cook; his daughter, Patricia Evelyn Parker (Danny); five sons, Homer Samuel Cook, Jr. (Marcia), Charles Ray Cook (Denise), Darrell Eugene Cook (O'Mara), Thomas Lelton Hopper (Peggy) and Elton Anthony Hopper (Sandi); and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2008, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
