Heyward Meadows

Mr. Heyward Lanford Meadows, age 85, resident of Chelsea, AL, passed away June 17, 2014 with his wife by his side. He was US Navy veteran of WWII. Heyward was retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham, AL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jay B. Meadows, mother, Ethel Alice Jones Meadows, sister, Clemis Meadows Oliver, brothers, E. K. and S. T. Meadows, and son, Jerry Wendell Meadows.
He is survived by his wife of many years, Betty Bence Meadows, son, Larry Clark Meadows (Wanda) of Crestwood, KY, grandson, Ryan Wilson Meadows (Chrissy) of Carrollton, GA, granddaughters, Jennifer Meadows Cantledge (Ken) of LaGrange, KY, Kristen Meadows Campbell (John) of LaGrange, KY, Stephanie Meadows Preston (Jake) of Chelsea, AL, Erica Meadows of Hoover, AL, two great granddaughters, four great grandsons, and daughter-in-law, Mary Meadows of Helena, AL.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 20, 2014, from 12-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 2 PM with Dr. Paul Moore officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 2867 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124.
