Henry Hughes

of Maylene, went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the age of 74. He was a current member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster and was a former member of McElwain Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanette Hughes; a son, Don Hughes (Cinderella); two daughters, Deborah Bond (Kevin) and Brenda McKay (Paul); six grandchildren, Sabrina Kowinwipat, Amber Shelton (Nick), Brandi Dillinger (Mike), Matthew and Caitlin McKay, and Aubrielle Hughes; two brothers, Roger Hughes (Helen) and Kenneth Hughes (Margie). The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Alabaster. Services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Mike Byars, Dr. Neal Kinerim and Rev. Jody Baker officiating. A second visitation will also be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Sorrells Funeral Home, Geneva, AL. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Moody Faulk officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to the American Cancer Society.
